Trippier gets late call from Pearce
BARNSLEY: Tykes defender Kieran Trippier has landed his first England Under-21 call-up.
Trippier, who is on loan from Manchester City until the New Year, was drafted into the squad to face Romania by coach Stuart Pearce following the withdrawal of defenders Micah Richards and Kieran Gibbs.
Pearce’s side are chasing a place at next summer’s European Championship finals in Denmark, with the first leg of their play-off at Norwich City’s Carrow Road on Friday and the second leg taking place in Botosani four days later.
