Trott takes advantage of Bangladesh

JONATHAN TROTT inked his name into England's Test side with a measured century on day two of the pre-Test warm-up against Bangladesh A.

Weighed against Michael Carberry's disappointing five yesterday evening, Trott's commanding knock of 101 before retiring all but assured him a role in Friday's series opener.

Matt Prior also limbered up in style with an attacking 73 not out as the tourists ended the day 52 behind with three of the opposition's second innings wickets in the bank.

England started the day on 68-3 and declared on 281-7 before James Tredwell took his seventh and eighth wickets of the match in the hosts' 131-3.

The match's first-class status was ended when the injured Syed Rasel was replaced by Mahbubul Alam at the start of play, while England opted to give reserve wicketkeeper Steven Davies a chance behind the stumps in the second innings.
