2012, Barcelona, Raonic won 6-4 7-6 (7/3)

Murray’s first look at Raonic and his huge serve came in the quarter-finals of the clay-court tournament in Barcelona four years ago. The Canadian smacked 14 aces for his first win over a top-eight player.

2012, US Open, Murray won 6-4 6-4 6-2

Raonic was among Murray’s victims as he clinched his first grand slam title. The fourth-round clash was expected to be a tough test for Murray but he gave a virtuoso performance. He said sorry at the net for a couple of lucky moments, to which Raonic replied: “Don’t be sorry, it was simply amazing.”

2012, Tokyo, Raonic won 6-3 6-7 (5/7) 7-6 (7/4)

Murray was the defending champion at the Japan Open but lost a very close three-setter to Raonic in the semi-finals in their third meeting of the year.

2014, Indian Wells, Raonic won 4-6 7-5 6-3

Raonic’s third win in four matches against Murray came at one of the Scot’s most troublesome tournaments. Murray was still struggling after back surgery and split from coach Ivan Lendl a couple of weeks later.

2014, ATP World Tour Finals, Murray won 6-3 7-5

Murray stopped his losing run against Raonic at the O2 Arena but ended his season on a real low note in his next match by winning only a single game against Roger Federer.

2015, Madrid, Murray won 6-4 7-5

Murray finally found his form on clay last summer and, after winning his first title in Munich, followed that up with a Masters crown in Madrid, beating Raonic in the quarter-finals.

2016, Australian Open, Murray won 4-6 7-5 6-7 (4/7) 6-4 6-2

There biggest match prior to Sunday came in the last four in Melbourne in January. Raonic had Murray in a lot of trouble but began to struggle with a thigh injury in the fourth set and the Scot escaped.

2016, Monte-Carlo, Murray won 6-2 6-0

A fourth straight win for Murray over Raonic and unexpectedly one-sided, with the Canadian again hampered by injury. Murray had been scratching around for his best form prior to this match and has not looked back since.

2016, Queen’s, Murray won 6-7 (5/7) 6-4 6-3

The best guide to how Sunday’s match will go came four weeks ago in the final at Queen’s Club. Raonic looked poised for victory at a set and 3-0 but Murray got to grips with the Canadian’s serve just in time to win a record fifth title.
