Wagh making it tough for Yorkshire

YORKSHIRE are being frustrated by a strong Nottinghamshire fightback on the second day of the County Championship match at Trent Bridge.

At tea, the home side are 196-2 in their second innings, a deficit of nine runs, as they continue to make a mockery of their first innings total of 59.

Resuming on 45-0 after lunch, Nottinghamshire lost their first wicket on 56 in the 19th over when Alex Hales was caught behind off Moin Ashraf for 24.

It was Nottinghamshire's highest opening stand of the summer as Hales and Paul Franks dug in well against the Yorkshire bowlers.

Franks, who normally bats in the lower order, was not removed until shortly before tea when Adil Rashid struck in his second over.

The leg-spinner, not introduced until Nottinghamshire were 184-1 after 42 overs, lured the left-hander forward and had him caught at slip by the ever-reliable Jacques Rudolph for 79.

Mark Wagh, with whom Franks added 131 for the second wicket, is unbeaten on 59, while the Autralian batsman Adam Voges is undefeated on one.
