Walker makes Bradford Bulls switch

FORMER Great Britain centre Chev Walker is to join Bradford next season after making his comeback from a career-threatening injury.

The 27-year-old Walker played for Hull KR's Under-20s at the weekend, almost 12 months since suffering an horrific compound fracture of his leg in the Super League play-offs against former club Leeds.

Walker, who has scored five tries in 31 appearance for the Robins since joining them from Bath rugby union club at the end of 2007, is out of contract at Craven Park at the end of the season and was not offered a new deal.

Bradford have not yet announced the signing but Walker broke the news via his twitter feed and Hull KR this afternoon confirmed the move.

"The club thank Chev for his contribution during his time at Craven Park and wish him all the best for his future at the Bulls in 2011," said a statement on the Rovers website.

Walker will be the first signing for Bulls new coach Mick Potter, who is also thought to be tracking Catalans Dragons' France captain Oliver Elima, Hull prop Ewan Dowes and Wigan winger Shaun Ainscough.
