Weather continues to play havoc with racing fixture list

POINT-TO-POINTING in Yorkshire is still waiting to get off the ground after several cancellations due to bad weather.

The latest casualty was the West of Yore Steeplechases at Whitcliffe Grange, Ripon which had to be postponed last weekend. Organisers are now trying to find a new date.

This Sunday, all being well, the Old Raby Hunt Club will hold their point-to-point at Witton Castle.

Also on the card is the Connolly's Red Mills Intermediate race, which is one of a series of races being held across the country.

The first four past the post will be eligible for the Hunter Chase final at Cheltenham on May 5.

The race has attracted some consistent runners from last season, including the yet-to-be beaten My Old Piano.
