We're ready to go one better says Aspinwall

MARTIN ASPINWALL feels Huddersfield Giants are in a better position to fulfil their Carnegie Challenge Cup dream than last year.

The in-form loose forward was part of the side that lost against Warrington Wolves in last year's final, a defeat which still hurts.

They start out again on the road to Wembley tomorrow with a difficult televised fourth-round tie at home to Super League rivals Hull KR.

Aspinwall, who also featured in their 2006 final defeat against

St Helens at Twickenham, said: "We have a bigger squad, more quality. We've got more experienced players and have signed people who have already played in big games, like Lee Gilmour and David Fa'alogo."

Such internationals should ensure the Giants, if they do progress, do not freeze again as they did last August having reached their first Wembley final since 1962.

Aspinwall admitted: "We didn't feel we did ourselves justice. We knew we could play a lot better than what we did so it was hard to accept. We don't want to make the same mistake again. We want to get back to Wembley and go one better than last year."

Huddersfield defeated Hull KR 30-0 at Craven Park in February but Justin Morgan's side have improved markedly since, shocking Warrington with a 36-16 win on Sunday.

Rangi Chase, Joe Westerman, Kirk Dixon and James Evans are all in the frame for Castleford Tigers as they bid for a morale-boosting win over Barrow but the struggling Super League club have lost centre Michael Shenton (hand) and Liam Higgins to injury, Mike Cooper has returned to Warrington and Wigan loanees Shaun Ainscough and Chris Tuson are ineligible.

Championship leaders Featherstone hope to upset Warrington tomorrow when ex-British Lions captain Gareth Thomas will play for Crusaders at York City Knights and Halifax amateurs Siddal face Batley.

Other ties sees Bradford head to Dewsbury and Hunslet entertain Oldham.
