West Park (St Helens) 31 Beverley 48

BEVERLEY completed their National Three fixtures in style, running in seven tries on their way to victory at strugglers West Park.

The match was entertaining with the initiative swinging backwards and forwards during the first half.

West Park took a 12-point lead within 10 minutes of the start, whilst Beverley struggled to find top gear.

Beverley suddenly came to life and ran in two tries within two minutes of each other, both of which were converted to take a 14-12 lead.

Back came West Park with two converted tries to give them a bonus point and a half-time lead of 26-14.

Beverley started the second half like men possessed, running in four tries and converting two within the first 20 minutes to lead 38-26.

They added another 10 minutes later which was converted, and rounded of with a penalty to take their points tally to 48. West Park were clearly tiring in the later stages but did manage another try to secure a bonus point which was not enough to save them from relegation.
