Whitakers top the bill at British Masters

ORGANISERS have confirmed a star-studded field for the Charles Stanley British Masters at Chester Racecourse next month.

Numerous top British show jumpers, included reigning British Open champion Ellen Whitaker and current Nations Cup riders John Whitaker, Ben Maher and Michael Whitaker, have entered, in addition to defending champion Robert Smith. A strong international contingent features top riders such as American star Laura Kraut, Spain's Miriam Garcia and Ireland's Shane Breen.

Richard Thomas, chief executive of Chester Racecourse, said: "The number of world-class riders we have had sign up for this competition confirms the need for this type of international competition to take place in the UK." The event will be held from July 2-4.
