Wladimir Klitschko slams heavyweight champ Haye

The British boxer's attempts to unify the division before he turns 31 look to be in serious doubt with both the Klitschko brothers, Wladimir and Vitali, announcing fights against other opponents in the middle of the year.

Wladimir, the most likely opponent of the two brothers, has re-scheduled his previously cancelled fight with Derek Chisora for April 30, and Haye has now claimed he is 'done' with both Ukrainians.

This has led Wladimir to hit out at Haye calling him a 'liar' and 'a loser' and says he can fight both the Brit and Chisora within three months.

"I don't take David Haye as a super special fight. I don't need a half a year to prepare for this fight. I'm always in shape anyway," said Klitschko.

He said the Chisora fight, which was cancelled due to the Ukrainian suffering an injury days before the bout was due to take place, would be the perfect way to prepare for a contest against Haye.

"Me fighting Chisora first is good promotion for the fight with David Haye because the guy is also British and very loud. It's perfect to help promote the big fight."

With a fight with the Klitschko's now in serious doubt, Haye may look to face the mandatory challenger for his world title, Ruslan Chagaev, but Wladimir, the younger of the two brothers, has called on Haye to avoid Chagaev and fight him in July.

"He could give Chagaev step-aside money and then I'm going to be there with nobody to fight," said Klitschko, who has made 14 defences of the WBO, IBF, IBO and ring heavyweight titles he has held since 2006. Haye won the WBA heavyweight title when he defeated the giant Nikolay Valuev in November 2009.

"Because of our history before, I would fight him July 2 and we would work on the contract, but I would fight Chisora first and make sure I fight."

The fight between the two men had long been in the pipeline and was due to happen on June 20, 2009, but Haye pulled out due to a bad back.

Ever since then both sides have claimed they are willing and ready to make the fight happen but, with Haye vowing he will retire in October, time is running out.

Klitshcko has questioned Haye's plans to retire claiming he won't retire on the back of a one-sided win over Audley Harrison.

Klitschko said: "He's telling everyone, 'I'm going to retire by the end of the year and I will have my legacy'. He's going to have a legacy for the Audley Harrison fight - the most exciting heavyweight fight in the world.

"He has no legacy whatsoever. He has this terrible disease and he has to retire? This is total nonsense. He is playing the media, He will not retire because he's a liar, liar, liar."

Along with the Floyd Mayweather versus Manny Pacquiao, this is a fight which the boxing world wants to see and Klitschko, who is also in talks with Tomasz Adamek for a fight in September, is confident it will happen.

He said: "This guy will fight me. He will eventually fight me. He will eventually fight me because everything coming out of his mouth is a lie. But if he does retire, he'll be a loser with no legacy in the heavyweight division at all."
