Yorkshire chalks up several eventing successes

Leading the way for the White Rose County was Stokesley’s Katie Hardisty, who enjoyed a brilliant victory in the BE100 2012 event originally scheduled to take place last year.

Hardisty and Croft Farm Percy saw off Amelia King and Regal Mix as part of what turned out to be an incredible weekend for the Yorkshire rider.

The following day Hardisty got engaged to her partner Matt with the Yorkshire Primary School teacher then celebrating her birthday on Sunday.

“It’s been some week,” admitted delighted Hardisty.

“I’m over the moon and it’s exciting times ahead.”

Back in 13th place in the 2012 BE100 was York’s Sophie Blades on Pretty Game.

Celebrations were also in order for three Yorkshire riders who posted high-placed finishes in the BE90 2012 event, which was won by Biddy Brasted-Watts on Market Fiesta.

Back in fifth was Silingsby star Steph Robson on Toms Gold ahead of Breckenbrough’s Chloe Bell who, at just 15 years of age, came home in sixth on Foxhill Jet.

Harewood’s Judith Bennett was also 11th on Legato II.

There was also success in the ‘2013’ events with Market-Weighton’s Lucie Cawood 11th in the BE90 competition on board Alfie in which Skipton’s Jonathan Procter was well poised on Sumas William Of Orange until being eliminated at the cross country stage.

That event was won by Lucy Robinson on Red Dandy with the BE100 2013 event going the way of Charlotte Parry-Ashcroft on Danescroft Boy.
