Yorkshire fans have plenty of cyclists to back

Pete Williams of Skipton is one of just a host of local riders for the county’s cycling fans to get behind at this week’s inaugural Tour de Yorkshire.

His some-time training partner Tom Barrass of Keighley will ride for the NFTO team, while the Yorkshire interest is headlined by Team Sky sprinter Ben Swift and JLT Condor’s British track star Ed Clancy.

Below their level of celebrity, there are a number of young up-and-coming Yorkshire riders either competing or on their squad’s reserve list, including Keighley’s Moses brothers, Tom and Joe, for JLT Condor and Wakefield’s Oliver Wood who is on the Great Britain development team.
