Yorkshire fight back after loss of wickets

ANDREW GALE and Tim Bresnan steadied the ship after Yorkshire lost three quick wickets after lunch on the escond day of the County Championship match against Somerset at Headingley Carnegie.

Gale (39) and Bresnan (29) have added an unbroken partnership of 55 after Yorkshire slipped to 142-5 after resuming on 106-2 after the interval.

Joe Sayers was the first to go after the break, lbw to Damien Wright for 51. Jacques Rudolph was caught behind by Craig Kieswetter off Alfonso Thomas for 33 and Yorkshire lost their fifth wicket when Jonny Bairstow was lbw to Peter Trego for 11.

But Gale and Bresnan settled the home team's nerves as they pursue Somerset's first innings total of 272.
