Stuart Naylor the Halifax-Huddersfield Union president and a long-standing Bradley Hall member, is especially delighted that the facilities will be available for the upcoming Yorkshire Inter-District Union League six-man team championship, which will be staged at the club next month.

The competition is allocated to a club situated in one of the eight competing regions on a rotational basis and Naylor says if each of Halifax-Huddersfield Union's 23 clubs was awarded the event on a similar system, Bradley Hall would only get to stage it once every 184 years.

"The top golfers from each region are brought together on this one occasion in the year to play golf in this format," said Naylor.

"Yorkshire-based unions at past events have been represented by players of the stature of Danny Willett, Chris Hanson, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Colin Montgomerie, Mark James, Lee Westwood, Howard Clark, Richard Finch and others.

"This year there will be a host of top class players on view - some perhaps potential stars of the future.

"Make a date in your diary, come along - and give our team a cheer."

He added: "This facility is a fantastic addition to Halifax Bradley Hall, especially being completed in time for the prestigious six-man scratch team event."

On the day of the range's opening, members were able to compare their own swing with that of European Tour player Hanson, of Woodsome Hall, using state of the art Flightscope technology.

Head PGA Professional David Delaney commented: "This facility has exceeded all our expectations and can only continue to attract more members, including beginners, to our golf club."
