Course designer Jonathan Pearson decided to test the Blue course players with a slightly lengthened layout now featuring 10 holes.

The players enjoyed firm fairways and fast greens and taking the spoils this month was Niall Langley Brook, who is one of the competition's most consistent performers.

With his father Gary caddying, Langley Brook's round highlight was a birdie two on the intimidating par-3 sixth hole. He holed a 35ft putt after his tee shot had skimmed the pond three times on its way to the green.

Langley Brook completed the 10 holes in a score of 45 (plus three) to take a two-shot victory from Ben Watson and also the bonus of a new course record.

The white course section proved popular and for the second consecutive month saw a new mark being set.

This event attracted eight competitors and Victoria Walton scored a new personal best of 53, lopping no fewer than nine shots off her previous mark.

She finished just two shots behind the eventual winner Eve Midgley, who once again proved too strong with a superb score of 51.

She had a very consistent round with all holes completed in six or fewer.

A superb finish on the long eighth and ninth holes led to a second consecutive win and a lowering of her own course record.

The yellow section was the most closely contested category with only five shots separating the first seven players.
