Yorkshire golf: Glasses raised to Neil Garbutt as he wins Harrogate Union's Masham Trophy
MASHAM players filled the top five places over their home course during Harrogate Union president Robin Elias's Prize Day.
Neil Garbutt, who teed off in the morning and played free of the heavy showers that fell later on, won with 37 Stableford points, followed by two 12-year-olds, Charlie Abbott and Ben Brown, who each scored 35.
The event was sponsored by local brewers, Theakstons, who supplied most of the prizes - and therefore alternative prizes had to be found for Abbott and Brown.
Leo Meaney placed fourth and Alan Sturdy fifth, a further point behind.
Otley members, Mike Silverwood, Paul Darby and Robert Leach scooped all three prizes between them for nearest the pin.
