Yorkshire golf: Harrogate move to head of early YIDU Junior League standings
The hosts were in good heart at Masham GC following a 23-13 win over Bradford at Romanby GC.
Four key players were away on Yorkshire duty, but the squad showed their strength in depth with a 25-11 defeat of Halifax-Huddersfield.

Hide AdFirst out in the morning foursomes for the hosts were Will Eardley (Pannal GC) and Will Bradley (Otley GC), who were up against Joe Lowson (Bradley Hall GC) and Greg Hudson Hunter (Halifax GC).
Eardley and Bradley lost the first hole, but it proved a temporary low as they stormed to a 7&6 victory.
Ilkley GC pairing Robert Nesbitt and Edward Flather played some fine golf in beating Crow Nest Park GC's James Edwards and Harry Mowl 2&1.
In the third match, Gregor Myles (Ilkley GC) and Sion Blears (Otley GC) were involved in a stern struggle with Saddleworth GC's Ben Pullen and Kaylem Billy (Huddersfield GC).

Hide AdThis contest went all the way with the home pair eventually prevailing one up.
Another Ilkley-Otley duo, Henry Croft and Alex Harm, proved too strong for Aiden Grant (Dewsbury & District GC) and Jake Shaw (Halifax GC), winning 4&3.
Billy Swaine (Pannal GC) and Thirsk GC debutant Richard Fawcett battled well, but went down by one hole to Lightcliffe GC duo Matthew Holden and John Elliot.
In the final foursomes , the Harrogate GC pair of Angus Gray and Ben Davies pulled back from four down against Crosland Heath GC's Oliver Caton and Joel Rushworth to claim a half.

Hide AdThe hosts' 9-3 morning lead was augmented by a 16-8 result in the afternoon singles.
Bradley, Nesbitt, Flather, Blears, Croft and Harm all had 100 per cent returns for Harrogate while Holden and Rushworth were undefeated for Halifax-Huddersfield, each returning a win and a half.
