As well as 21 boys from Yorkshire, Huddersfield's Charlotte Heath - whose bid for the Yorkshire ladies amateur title on her home track in May was only ended in the quarter-finals by Curtis Cup player Rochelle Morris (Woodsome Hall) - will fly the flag for the White Rose girls.

The field at Pannal on August 23-26 will also include England Under-14 champion Harry Bigham (Porters Park), Adam Sayeed (Foxhills), the 2013 US Kids European Champion, and England's Under-14 and Under-16 title holder Lily May Humphreys (Channels).

Pannal men’s captain Jon Clayton said: “The number of young golfers wishing to play in what will be the 16th staging of this golf tournament is very encouraging. It augurs well for the future of golf in the UK and Europe.

"I am sure that many of them will go on to very successful golf careers as has 2010 winner Matt Fitzpatrick, of Sheffield, currently in line for the 2016 Ryder Cup team."

As in previous years there will be a curtain raiser on Tuesday, August 23 with an Under-16 girls international match between England and Switzerland.

Pannal ladies’ captain Ann Whiteley commented: “We are sure this will be a great match featuring eight of the best junior girls from England and Switzerland played over our challenging 18 holes”.
