Cold winds had greet the early morning starters, and this was followed by rain and snow, with a slight covering of the latter affecting the course for the afternoon players.

The early pace was set by Tony Slinger and Stephen Elms, from Rudding Park GC, with a score of 38pts, eventually good enough for second place.

Third place ultimately went to Knaresborough's Stewart Milligan and Adrian Blackburn.

Three of the five prize-winners came from the afternoon play, showing that Masham stood up well to the unseasonal weather.
