Yorkshire golf: Lesley Brosnan doubles up on lady captain's day at Lees Hall

LESLEY BROSNAN was an emphatic winner on lady captain's day at Lees Hall, heading the field by no fewer than six shots.

And Brosnan had to step up twice for lady captain Michele Plumtree's prize giving as she also took first place in the afternoon fun competition, with partner Jean Shelton.

Brosnan carded a net 65 to win the main event with second place going to Rachael Von Graevenitz with a 71, on count back from Gill Leeson. Fourth place was taken by Alex Crawshaw on 73.

Todmorden's June medal was won by two shots by 15-handicapper Matt Brown with a net 67.

There was a close battle for second place with three players tieing on net 69.

Phil Ellis (84-15-69) took the runner-up spot on count back with Glen Duckworth (83-14-69) third and Michael Murray (72-3-69) fourth.

Seven-handicapper David West had a hole in one at the 150-yard par-3 fifth hole during the medal.

This weekend sees the club stage their Silver Rabbits medal on Saturday and the Men's Invitation fourball better ball on Sunday.
