Yorkshire golf: Pudsey Putter remains at Fulneck for another year after win over Woodhall Hills

The annual friendly match between the Rabbits sections of each club was played undcer the threat of thunder storms and in warm, clammy weather.

Fulneck took full advantage of local knowledge as they played host to Woodhall Hills, winning 4-2 with their team of Rabbits' captain Rob Gillespie, who partnered Gareth Shepherd, Paul Gaunt and John Robinson, Ross Keighley and Alan Hollings, Simon Hennigan and Keith Pullan, and Dave Smith and Graham Dunn.

Wetherby's Mylchreest Bowl has been won by 10-handicapper Henry Culloden with a 140-aggregate (68 72).

He finished three clear of Ben Schur (7), who carded 72 71, with 13-handicapper Cameron Newcombe third on 146.

Ten-handicapper Steven Lazenby won Division One of The Bradford's June medal with a net 68. Vijay Taheem, who plays off seven, was only beaten into second place on count back.

Club captain Pete Tuff triumphed in the Division Two category (80-12-68) and again count back was required, David Burgess (79-11-68) the man consigned to runner-up spot.

Count back was required for a third time, Paul Morris (91-20-71) coming out on top ahead of Nick Wilcock (96-25-71) and third-placed John Thompson (89-18-71).

Michelle Priestley (84-11-73) just pipped Maggie Ellis (91-18-73) to the Division One first prize in the England Golf Medal qualifier.

Junior Ella Firbank (98-26-72) edged Vivian Balmforth (101-28-73) to win the Division Two first prize.

Birley Wood held their club day with the John Hall Trophy ( for handicaps 16-20) and Tigers Cup (0-15) up for grabs.

Peter Booth was an emphatic winner of the John Hall Trophy with 42pts, nine ahead of Karl Wilson and David Cammack.

Julian Madden holds the Tigers Cup with an excellent 72 off eight for a net 64.

It gave him a one-shot margin over Paul Sanderson (78-13-65) and three over Carlton Hollis (78-11-67).
