Clark was a member of Riddlesden GC for 36 years before the club's recent demise.

"Unfortunately the club folded in January this year after 88 years," said Clark. "It was a very sad time for all involved with the club, but times move on and Keighley Golf Club have made us ex-Riddlesden members feel very welcome."

An 11-handicapper, Clark found the cup with his tee shot at the 125-yard par-3 11th hole using an eight-iron.

It was his fifth ace, the others being achieved at four different holes at Riddlesden - numbers two, six, 10 and 12.

"I’ve won a few club competitions over the years, but nothing major," added Clark, modestly. "As I’m now 65 my best days are probably behind me, but I still like to compete and enjoy the banter on & off the course."

PGA North have appointed Alex Roland as captain.

"It's a great honour and I'm thrilled to bits," said the Hawarden professional, who also serves as club manager, secretary and oversees the green staff.
