The Yorkshire Pedalthon, which is open to both individuals and corporate teams, offers riders the choice between a 80mile challenge route or 40mile scenic route.

The longer ride involves 6,000ft of climbing including the notorious Kidstones Pass. Both circular routes start and finish at Ripley Castle, in North Yorkshire, and pass through Masham.

The event has been organised by Carter Jonas together with sporting event organisers Breathingspace Live, and will raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and public transport charity Sustrans.

David Aspland, Carter Jonas’ head of commercial in Yorkshire, said: “The Yorkshire Pedalthon will promote the region as a place to do business, helping to get the participants fitter, as well as raising the profile of local produce at dedicated food stations.”

Individual entry costs £150 each and teams of four can enter for £500. Visit www.yorkshirepedalthon.co.uk for details.
