What’s your favourite plant?: Rhododendrons and azaleas are my favourite plants as they give such a show at the beginning of the year when nature has not yet fully come into leaf, and they have such wonderful scents to their flowers.

What is your pet hate?: Weeding.

What’s your best gardening tip?: Iron sulphate kills mosses in lawns. One of the dreadful afflictions lawns have is moss as it kills the grass and creates yellow patches, and disease in the lawn, so removing the moss is a blessing.
