Total of 27 new Covid deaths recorded in Yorkshire hospitals

A further 27 people have died in hopsitals in Yorkshire after testing positive for Covid-19.

The deaths were confirmed in the latest daily figures released by NHS England.

Across the country, the figures show that 315 people died in hospital after testing positive for coronavirus in the 24 hours to 4pm on Friday, February 19.

Date of death ranges from 18 April 2020 to 18 February 2021.

The time taken for positive results to be received is among the potential factors in a delay between a death happening and being recorded

Since April 28 2020, NHS England and NHS Improvement also started to report the number of patient deaths where there has been no Covid-19 positive test result but it is documented as a direct or underlying cause of death in the death certification process.

The figures for the latest reporting period show there were 42 such deaths in England.

A total of 8,115 people have died with the virus in Yorkshire according to statistics.
