Yorkshire-raised pianist Emmanuel Vass will be back in familiar territory this weekend.
The 26-year-old Royal Northern College of Music graduate is to perform concerts at Castle Howard on Saturday, July 11 and Bolton Abbey, near Skipton on Monday, July 13.
Born in Manila, Philippines, Vass grew up in East Yorkshire. Having passed Grade 8 piano with distinction at the age of 15 he subsequently studied with Robert Markham at Yorkshire Young Musicians, the Centre for the Advanced Training for Gifted Young Musicians based at Leeds College of Music.
This was followed by four years at the Royal Northern College of Music, where Manny studied with John Gough and was supported by scholarships from the Leverhulme Scholarship Trust and the Sir John Manduell Scholarship Trust. He graduated in 2011.
In September 2012 he made his first BBC Radio 3 appearance as part of a Radio 3 Masterclass, presented by David Owen-Norris.
His debut recording, From Bach To Bond, reached Number 3 in the UK Classical charts. Its follow-up, Sonic Waves, is out now.
