Torque is the name of the spring/summer hair collection of cool styles from Sassoon Salon, perfect for those who are considering a makeover for the new season.

In 1963, Vidal Sassoon took hair down to its absolute basics and went on to create the world’s most iconic haircuts including the Asymmetric Geometric. Those same graphic lines inspire this new collection with the same purity, simplicity and utility in design.

“To maximise a polished, glossy finish, ensure you blow-dry the hair in a downward direction and wrap the hair around the head shape to create a sleek, high-gloss shine.”

This season Sassoon’s colour technique takes cues from the jewellery house of Cartier as Sassoon translates intricate colour through a fine “slicing” technique.

“We use colour to complement the shape of the haircut and create different dimensions within one look,” says Edward Darley, Sassoon UK colour director. “Our colours have a natural looking, fibre-optic iridescence that give vibrancy and shine to a haircut.”

Effortlessly dishevelled bobs are another key look with a basic strong shape given the mussed-up treatment. “What’s wrong is actually really right at the moment and this look is easy to achieve,” says Bruce. “Add a small amount of Sassoon Professional Texture Refine evenly through your hair and mould into the desired shape”.

For an instant update, sweeping side fringes were seen in SS16 shows such as Fendi and Markus Lupfer. “This look works best on hair with very gentle natural movement and adds drama to the classic bob,” says Bruce.
