Three employees in Halifax Gas Department were injured yesterday when an accident occurred during the emptying of a purifier at the gas works.
They were taken to the Royal Halifax Infirmary, two being allowed to go home after attention, but the third man. John Flinders of Prospect Street, Halifax, was detained suffering from burns on the face and arms.

Hide AdLeslie Driver (12), of Garden Road, Valley Road, Dewsbury, was admitted to Dewsbury Infirmary yesterday suffering from concussion, sustained when he fell irom his bicycle when riding down Scout Hill, Dewsbury.
Mr. J.G.F. Milbank, son of Sir Frederick Milbank, who farms at Hawsteads, near Barningham. began haymaking yesterday.
A model aeroplane, belonging to Mr. Sydney Taylor, of Keighley, a member of Bradford Model Aero Club, made a remarkably long flight last Sunday. An elastic driven monoplane, the ‘plane was released between 4.45 and 5p.m. at Baildon Moor, and landed at Rivock, near Keighley, at 5.45 p.m. The distance from Baildon to Rivock is between four and five miles, but it is probable that the ‘plane, which usually files at about 14 miles an hour, covered 11 or 12 miles in actual flying distance.
