Mass Pigeon Flight

Two hundred pigeons will make a mass flight from Melton Mowbray to Darfield to-day, arranged by Darfield Homing Society, in aid of local hospitals.

Each bird will be entered at cost of one shilling, and it is hoped to make at least £lO this way.

About 38 members of the society are taking part, with an average of five or six birds each.

The Basque refugees’ camp at Morton Banks. Keighley, yesterday received six children from the Sheffield home, bringing up the total number refugees at Morton Banks to 88.

Since the beginning the year there have been 26 fatal road accidents in Leeds and 530 non-fatal accidents.

The comparative figures for the same period last year were; 15 fatal and 571 non-fatal accidents.
