The East Riding Ambulance Service was taking delivery today of this American styled ambulance, built from a Humber Hawk car and the first of its type.

In it the patient lies full length on a stretcher, with attendant seated beside him, or the interior converts to take five sitting cases.

The vehicle was supplied by Cox and Co. Leeds Ltd. at an approximate cost of £1,500.

Part of its use will be to take sick holiday makers from the Yorkshire coast to their homes, often long distances away.

it has a top speed of 80 m.p.h.
