The performance and music was a great example of how two completely different genres – grime and hardcore rock – can cross and work perfectly.

Full of loyal and lively fans, to say the least, the gig showed raw talent and showmanship from the band from Cardiff.

Currently on a UK tour, the five-piece are just about to support British rock band Enter Shikari, however, still made time to come to see their fans in Leeds.

While the night was overall, very enjoyable, this was not a gig for the faint hearted. With the band themselves encouraging crowd surfing, it wasn’t long before fans got stuck in to enjoying the music of Astroid Boys fully.

Launching their new album Broke, released two days before the gig, their set showed off a range of new music that had a unique sound.

Despite this, in comparison to the time that the other two support acts, Sweet Vision & Resist, had, it was a shame that the band did not have more time to show off their talent and new material.

Otherwise, it was quite a contrast for the other two bands, which, despite being talented and great at what they do, did not fit at all with the genre of the main act.

Although, taking this into account, The Key Club, generally plays host to more rock bands than grime.

This was, however, a minor gripe.

The night, despite the contrast between the support acts and Astroid Boys, was a great success.

For Astroid Boys, there were no holes in the atmosphere, proving, once again, that they have the stage presence and talent to pull off a great gig.
