Large queues of fans of the vinyl revival usually build up outside P&C Music in the wee small hours before it opens at 8am.The main reason is that, just as most indie record stores round the UK in this nineth annual event, there are a lot of new and exclusive vinly record releases by famous acts who also believe in the power of vinyl. That and the free hot drink and croissant P&C Music owner Peter Robinson serves to early customers at his shop which moved to 6 Devonshire Place on Skipton Road about a year ago.Peter Robinson said: “I love Record Store Day! Everyone has a great time. There’s always some witty banter in the queue and the delight on people’s faces when they secure the purchase of a rare new vinyl record by their favourite band is something to treasure.” The Harrogate shop will be offering an extensive list of vinyl exclusives - LPs, singles, picture discs, coloured vinyl, box sets, limited editions, classic reissues and brand new tracks.Acts featured include: Frank Turner, Madonna, Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie, Def Leppard, Status Quo, The Doors, Elvis Presley, Dr Who, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Foals, Hawkwind, Johnny Cash and more.As usual, Peter will be assisted by Lise (aka Mrs P&C) and daughter Laura. he said: ”It’s a family business and we enjoy meeting the record fans, some of whom are regular customers and some newcomers.”First established in 1994 on Commercial Street as Pomp and Circumstance when it specialised in classical music, jazz and blues, it has since spread its net wider into rock and pop and indie. For more information on P&C Music in Harrogate, visit www.pandcmusic.co.ukAlso opening their doors from 8am onwards will be two of Leeds' most respected indies - Crash Records and Jumbo Records.
