Young Star Heading To Leeds

Pianist, Martin James Bartlett, a regular on guest on BBC Radio and TV is heading to Leeds' Town Hall on February 6.

The young musician will be playing along side the European Union Chamber Orchestra performing music from Mozart,Bach and many more.

The rising star has been talked about highly by those well regarded in the industry such as violinist, Nicola Benedetti claiming “Martin is a natural and powerful musician, he lives and breathes music” and the Royal College of Music Magazine saying he’s “One of the greatest young up and coming piano talents in the music world.”

Aged just 19, Martin already has an impressive collection of accolades including the Angela Bull Competition and the Peter Morrison Concerto Prize.

In 2014 he won The BBC Young Musician of the year to add to his honors list with his winning performance of Rachmaninov Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini.

Martin was also one of 27 international artists including the lights of Elton John, Stevie Wonder and Nicola Benedetti to be chosen by the BBC to record a cover of the Beach Boys classic ‘God Only Knows’.
