Hello, 999? My dog's snoring too loudly... Listen to the funniest calls
Police released tapes of a man who called because his dog was snoring too loudly, and from a woman who alerted the emergency services to a black cat that had wandered into her house, as a warning not to misuse the service.

In South Yorkshire, a man dialled 999 Chief Insp Michael Quirk of West Yorkshire Police said: "These calls are so ridiculous it's astonishing listening to them but they hide a serious truth.
"Each call often takes minutes to deal with as our staff have to clarify the situation – it might not sound like much but if someone is trying to get through to report a genuine life or death emergency then a minute is a very long time to wait."
Police receive around 6,000 hoax calls a year, or 19 a day. The penalty for wasting police time is up to six months' imprisonment.
