Banyan, Leeds: I tried the new bottomless brunch menu at the popular Yorkshire bar and was surprised by the options on offer

It was a beautiful sunny evening when I arrived at the Yorkshire bar Banyan in Leeds city centre and I wasn’t sure what to expect regarding the menu - the options did surprise me.

I was invited to Banyan in Leeds city centre on Friday evening with three guests to try out their new bottomless brunch menu - since the meal was in the evening, I wasn’t sure what to expect.

We were greeted by our server who went through the ordering process and handed us the bottomless brunch menu that comes separately to the regular.

The menu was split into four steps: step one was ‘choose your drinks’, step two was an optional choice of upgrading to signature drinks, step three was ‘choose your food’ which was separated into two sections: ‘Brunching until 3pm’ and ‘Dining after 3pm’ and step four was also an optional choice of adding your extras.

My three guests were all in different moods, one chose an alcoholic option while the other two went for non-alcoholic drinks and that was one of the great things about this bottomless brunch, there was a dry bottomless option.

There were a variety of drinks on offer for both cocktails and mocktails; I went with the Aperol Spritz because this drink reminds me of summer and you had the choice of keeping the drinks coming or staggering out the drinks throughout the evening.

On my trip to LA a couple of years ago, we were at a bar where they served us Aperol Spritz; the first drink was very good but the second was a huge disappointment.

However, I enjoyed the three glasses I had at Banyan and savoured every taste while the sun was out.

We went with an upgrade to signature Prosecco, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, and I chose the Roast Cauliflower Malayan Curry for my mains which was absolutely delicious. I thought the food was of great quality. One of my guests had the Firecracker Chicken Salad, another had the Chicken Spirelli and my third guest had the Cheese Burger. I had tried the Firecracker Chicken Salad and thoroughly enjoyed it.

If you have any vegetarian friends, then this is a great place to eat, there aren’t as many vegan options though.

Our server was very friendly and open to questions throughout the evening and I was pleasantly surprised with the fact that you could enjoy a bottomless brunch in the afternoon or in the evening.

I would definitely try it again, especially during the summer months when the sun is out, it makes it all the more special.

It was great that there were so many options for mocktails too; when you are out with friends who are laying off the alcohol or who are pregnant, it’s nice for all friends to enjoy a party drink. I was also pleasantly surprised by the prices.

Bottomless Dining (from 3pm): From £39.95

Alcohol-Free Bottomless: £31.95
