HAVE you ever felt that you have a more than passingresemblance to Mozart's wife? Bit weird if you have, but it could be about to pay off. The good news this week for anyone who shares the features of the composer's spouse is that Leeds Festival Chorus is offering a free ticket for a concert in Leeds Town Hall to anyone whose face "strongly resembles" that of Constanze Mozart.

The all-Mozart concert, by the acclaimed Chorus with Northern Sinfonia will include the composer's Great Mass in C Minor, a work originally intended to introduce his wife, Constanze, to his family. INDEPENDENT publisher Legend Press has announced it has invented a new literary genre, the "spovel". Later this year they are to publish, Simon Cowell: The Sex-Factor, a spoof novel by author and national journalist Bill Coles. The fictional account of one of the world's most famous men follows Bill's previous book, Dave Cameron's Schooldays. The book sees Cowell undergo a mid-life crisis after being attacked by a crazed fan. Ending up penniless and shunned by his celebrity friends, Cowell makes a pilgrimage to Tibet: a quest for love; a quest for money; and a quest to regain his Austin Powers-like mojo – the Sex Factor.

KAY Mellor is to appear at the 12th annual Keswick Film Festival this February. She will be introducing a screening of A Passionate Woman at 7.30pm on February 10 and will be staying throughout the festival. Kay is best known for her long run of writing for TV including Brookside and Coronation Street and for creating Band of Gold and Fat Friends. Putting on 30 films across three venues, other highlights of this year's festival will include a pre-release of The Tempest with Helen Mirren. For more information on the festival, see

OPERA: all a bit melodramatic and generally doesn't end well if you're a lovebird. But don't let that put you off the interesting new venture from Opera North. The company is offering people the opportunity to tie the knot in its stunning Howard Assembly Room. Don't let the fact that it was at one time an "adult cinema" put you off. Actually, it is these days a beautiful venue and we think it would be perfect for a wedding. Even with its interesting history. All the details will be on the company's website in the coming weeks.

WE weren't sure what to make of this at first: author Adrian Dawson is holding a book signing at Leeds Waterstones on Saturday (from 11am). The thing is, we know the Yorkshire author best for the fact that he stormed the iBookstore charts and his novel was only released as an ibook – so we weren't exactly sure of the logistics of a book signing for something that only exists digitally. However, the publisher, Last Passage, have given Codex physical form – which Dawson will be signing this weekend.
