He told fans on Twitter yesterday: “BBC asked me not to say anything just yet about axing best show on British radio. Why? Because it’s embarrassing? Because they’ll look bad?”
Baker, 55, went on: “Hey BBC middle management. Seriously, I’ll be fine, don’t feel bad.”
He posted a picture of his Sony Awards and said he could sell them.
The presenter’s agent, Alex Armitage, said Baker was being dropped as a result of huge cuts in the budget to the local radio network. He added: “Personally I think it is crazy.”
