Food Matters: Butcher wins title for third year.

Kendalls Farm Butchers were celebrating after picking up a prestigious "champion" title for the third year in a row.

The Pateley Bridge shop produced a dish of pork medallions to claim the champion title for the third time in the ready meal category, at the BPEX product evaluation roadshow.

The event, which took place at the Great Yorkshire Showground, rewards product excellence across 12 categories and saw 277 products put to the expert industry judges by 63 butchers in the region.

As well as the ready meal champion title, the shop also triumphed in the speciality pork products category with their haggis, and walked away with a total of nine gold awards for products entered.

Paul Kendall said: "We have a fantastic chef on board who creates all of our ready meals and pies, as well as the stocks and sauces, from scratch.

"It's positive feedback for everyone and a real morale booster."
