Golden chance for musicians

A GUITARIST who learned to play in prison and a deaf trumpet player will appear in a television series about musician Goldie’s attempts to form a band to play at Buckingham Palace.

Goldie travelled the country to find 12 young people to play in the concert and introduced them to mentors including singer Ms Dynamite and songwriter Guy Chambers.

Goldie said: “This is one of the most inspiring projects I’ve ever been involved with. It’s all about unearthing musical talent that’s under the radar in Britain – finding young people who’ve faced huge challenges”

The band’s performance in front of an audience including Prince Harry was filmed for a BBC2 documentary, Goldie’s Band: By Royal Appointment.
