Rieu will be at the Sheffield Arena with his Johann Strauss Orchestra on Monday 21 December. Fans of the man dubbed the ‘Dutch King of Waltz’ can look forward to a new programme and show.

He said: “It’s wonderful to see how people from all over the world dance and sing along with us, and have a lot of fun, no matter if they’re young or old, from the UK, Mexico, Australia, Brazil, Germany or Scandinavia. We celebrate a big party every night together.

“I see so many happy faces each night in front of me and this proves that classical music is for everyone and that we were able to reach our audiences’ hearts. So I hope you will all join us for another very special evening.”

The audience will be able to enjoy the humour and romantic melodies that form part of the spectacle. They can even get out of their seats and dance in the aisles to one of the catchy waltzes, tunes from opera and operettas, and film music or well-known folk songs.

After performing in Sheffield, he will move on to dates at Wembley in London, on the following two nights, to conclude his trip to England. After that, Rieu will begin a tour of Germany.

In 2014, the performer’s colourful concerts enthused thousands of fans in the UK and showed why he is one of the most popular live acts in the world. His track record includes 411 platinum and 171 gold records and more than 1,5 million Facebook fans.
