If the worst case scenario occurs and – let’s face it, there is every chance The Stone Roses reunion could be the biggest ant-climax of the year – fans can be safe in the knowledge that The Vaccines will deliver.

On the back of last year’s outstanding debut album What Did You Expect From The Vaccines, the fast-paced indie-rockers will support the Madchester legends at Heaton Park next month and they are more than ready.

It is a sign of their growing confidence that the West London four-piece felt able to open with a new song from their yet-to-be-finished second album.

No Hope points towards a more intimate change of pace, while finishing their set with Bad Mood a searing, brooding number that’s sure to be a hit.

Their upbeat, high-tempo tunes earned The Vaccines wide acclaim and it wasn’t long before they reminded the faithful of their energy hurling themselves along at a packed Bridlington Spa.

Every song from their platinum-selling debut was featured reminding everyone there is not a dull tune.

Wreckin Bar got things underway perfectly after No Hope, and the brilliant Wetsuit was particularly suitable given the coastal location.

They rattled off other classics such as the anthemic Post Break Up Sex, a truly enthralling All In White, If You Wanna and finished their encore with the epic super-catchy Norgaard.
