Step back in time as vintage glamour takes the spotlight

Vintage glamour will be the order of the day when The House of Rose & Brown takes to the catwalk as part of the Saltaire Festival on Friday.

The Victoria Hall show will feature more than 100 classic vintage pieces from eras ranging from the 1920s through to the 1980s, provided by established retailers but also local, emerging designers; many of whom reinvent vintage textiles, and all modelled by local customers, ranging in size and age, who will strut their stuff to music reflecting each era.

Caroline Brown, owner of Rose & Brown, said: "It will be a fun and glamorous evening, with some of my regular customers stepping on to the catwalk to model beautiful vintage pieces.

"It takes courage to step on to the catwalk, but they will all find that they are walking on cloud nine afterwards. Previous models have found it so rewarding and exciting that they always want to do the next show, too."

The collection will show that vintage garments are

still very much wearable in today's society and after

the display, guests will be invited to try on garments, and buy if they like (there's a bar, too).

Tickets are 6 full price or 5 for concessions.

The vintage catwalk show takes place on Friday, September 17, at the Victoria Hall, Saltaire, doors open at 6.30pm, with the catwalk starting at 7.30pm.
