Sorbus aucuparia Huphens is a pink-fruiting mountain ash whose berries hang on into late December and even into January.
For some reason, birds tend to leave them well alone, preferring to decimate trees with orange and red berries. Mountain ash are extremely tolerant trees – they like either sun or light shade and can grow in just about any soil, even very wet.
