Aldi to support Team GB at Tokyo Games

'‹Discount supermarket chain '‹Aldi is to extend its partnership '‹with Team GB '‹beyond Rio 2016 to Tokyo in 2020.

As the first Official Supermarket Partner to Team GB, Aldi is supporting the nation’s athletes as they prepare to compete at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. With less than ​a month to go to the opening ceremony, Aldi has announced that it is extending its partnership with the ​​British Olympic Association for a further four years and launching a new TV advertising campaign profiling its support of Team GB.

“As the athletes begin making their final preparations for Rio 2016, we want them to know that we will be supporting them in the long-term too. All the way to Tokyo, in fact.”

Aldi first announced its sponsorship of Team GB as part of its 25th anniversary in the UK in 2015.

It has worked with the ​​British Olympic Association on its youth engagement programme and an initiative to connect athletes with their local commu- nities.
