Amazon to now deliver the goods on a Sunday

ONLINE retailer Amazon has launched Sunday deliveries in UK cities including Leeds and Manchester.

Other cities where the service is offered include London, Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Oxford and Nottingham. The announcement comes after the service was trialled in London for four weeks in the run-up to Christmas.

Members of the Amazon Prime scheme can receive their packages on a Sunday at no additional charge.

Amazon Prime customers benefit from unlimited one-day delivery as their default delivery option, meaning that depending on the time of day that the order is placed, if in stock, it will be dispatched that same day and delivered the next day.

“Delivery on a Sunday means every day is now an Amazon delivery day and that Prime members can enjoy even more convenience when shopping on Amazon,” said Jamie Stephenson, UK director for Amazon Logistics.

“We know customers really appreciated the immediacy of Sunday deliveries during the Christmas period.”
