Richard Edwards, the executive vice chairman of Anpario, which is based in Worksop, commented: “Meriden’s significant presence throughout China increases our involvement in the world’s biggest producer of poultry and pig meat.

“It reinforces our strategy to build more significant positions in the emerging agriculture and aquaculture markets.”

Meriden, which is based in Bedfordshire, supplies the global agriculture and aquaculture markets with natural animal feed products.

The corporate team in the Yorkshire office of law firm Dickinson Dees advised Anpario in connection with the deal.
