Appointments: Bank stalwart is chosen as corporate division’s new regional director

Royal Bank of Scotland Corporate Banking has appointed Jim McAuley as regional director for Yorkshire & North-East England.

He will be responsible for a team of seven directors tasked with providing banking and finance solutions to small and medium-sized businesses across the region typically turning over up to £25m.

He has been with the bank for nearly 35 years and has spent the majority of that time in management roles in the SME marketplace within the bank’s commercial banking division.

Independent private client investment manager Brewin Dolphin has appointed three new members of staff at its Leeds office. Divisional director Paul Martin, chartered financial planner Paul Redfearn and assistant Andy Thorpe all previously worked at Barclays Wealth.

The international department of Leeds, York & North Yorkshire Chamber has strengthened its global trade team with two new appointments.

Veteran international banker Neil Foulder, 59, joins as consultant. He has worked in the banking industry for four decades, principally with Standard Chartered Bank and Lloyds TSB.

Jolene Leslie has joined as international trade administrator. She previously worked for Halifax-based speciality chemical manufacturer Rhodia.

Clive Heaton QC is to be appointed to the Circuit Bench. From August 1, he will sit as a High Court Judge at Coverdale House in Leeds, exclusively hearing family cases. Mr Heaton joined Zenith Chambers in 1992, having previously practised as a solicitor for 10 years.

Recruitment and training specialist ZootAlore! has appointed Joanne Shaw as head of curriculum development.

Ms Shaw, who will be based at the firm’s Barnsley headquarters, previously worked for Rotherham-based educational media company U-Explore and will be responsible for introducing new projects to the ZootAlore! education portfolio such as summer schools and vocational sixth forms.

Leigh Deighton has joined Balfour Beatty Engineering Services as business development manager for Building Services North division. Ms Deighton, who will be based in Leeds, joins from VINCI Construction.

Veritas Recruitment Solutions has appointed senior resourcer Jane Smith. Ms Smith, who previously worked at Techsearch Recruitment, will be based in Leeds.

Turnaround and insolvency specialist Wilson Field has appointed Kelly Burton as a new insolvency practitioner in its Leeds office. Ms Burton previously worked at Armstrong Watson in Leeds as a senior insolvency manager.

VO4HOME has appointed Michael Greensmith as sales representative. Mr Greensmith, who will be based at the company’s head office in Rotherham, spent 15 years at Newey and Eyre as an area margin development manager.

Law firm Levi Solicitors has launched a family law department with the appointment of Marie Johnson who specialises in divorce and the financial aspects of separation and co-habitation disputes.
