Appointments: Lawyer joins specialist health team in Sheffield

A former senior legal adviser to the British Dental Association has joined the specialist health team at the law firm, Halliwells.

Lawyer Sunil Abeyewickreme has been appointed a partner at the Sheffield-based firm, making Halliwells one of only two legal practices in the UK to offer a multi-disciplinary service dedicated to dentistry.

Prior to joining Halliwells, Mr Abeyewickreme was head of the employment law team at Leeds-based Cohen Cramer and, before that, he was the senior legal adviser to the British Dental Association, a position he held for four years.

McCormicks Solicitors has added to its corporate law expertise with the appointment of a new solicitor.

Joanna Jowitt joins the corporate and commercial team at the Harrogate-based firm.

Hunters Property Group has appointed its first personal agent in the Doncaster area.

Michaela Bell has bought the franchise for Askern.

Hunters Personal is a new estate agency concept, which involves franchising home-based agents to sell and let properties in their own communities.

Ms Bell, who will work closely with Hunters' existing Selby office, was previously a health and leisure centre manager.

WorldEvents has created a new IT department support its flagship strategic event registration and management system.

The newly-created web solutions team will also be responsible for all of the Cleckheaton-based group's web and digital output.

Two new area managers have been appointed by specialist luxury car finance specialist Bridford Financial Solutions as it continues to expand nationally.
