Appointments: Lucky 13 as staff members promoted at Jones Lang LaSalle

PROPERTY consultancy Jones Lang LaSalle has announced the promotion of 13 members of staff in its Leeds office.

This marks its first round of promotions since the merger with King Sturge last year. Jones Lang LaSalle employs approximately 100 staff in its Leeds office.

Mathew Atkinson, previously local director, has been promoted to national director, whilst the newly promoted local directors are Paul Davinson, Colin Harrop and Kaye Walker.

In total, Jones Lang LaSalle has promoted six people to associate director, while three surveyors have been promoted to the role of senior surveyor.

Elsewhere, Yorkshireman James Halstead has joined the Hanson Group, to be based in Shanghai.

Mr Halstead, who starts as a junior executive at Sinojie Hanson, a chemical company, said: “I am very proud to be joining Hanson, a long-standing traditional Yorkshire business with modern ideas, and help the chairman’s ambition to expand in China.”

The group includes Hanson Logistics, a Huddersfield-based business owned by Robert and Brook Hanson, the sons of entrepreneur Lord Hanson.

Meanwhile, Zara Lane has joined Grant Thornton’s Yorkshire and North East advisory team as associate director. In her new role, she will focus on developing further the firm’s corporate finance offering.

The design team at Rotherham-based glass manufacturer Beatson Clark has welcomed a new recruit, Steve Nussey, who brings 28 years of experience in the glass industry to the department. He has been appointed to replace designer Dave Ashworth, who will retire in August after 48 years with Beatson Clark.

Barnsley Digital Media Centre has strengthened its team with the appointment of business innovation specialist Amanda Lennon. She has taken up the regional director role, succeeding Mel Kanarek.
