Appointments: New finance director for accountants

International accounting firm Mazars has promoted Rob Burton to the role of corporate finance director in Leeds.

Mr Burton joined Mazars’ Leeds corporate finance team in 2005, having previously worked at KPMG and Barclays Bank.

Cobbetts has strengthened its financial services team with the appointment of director Ray Hugill.

Mr Hugill will be based in the firm’s Leeds office, but will also work across Cobbetts’ Birmingham and Manchester offices.

He has 35 years’ experience in the financial services sector, having worked for Halifax, Cheltenham & Gloucester and Bradford & Bingley. Most recently, he was a director and joint LPA Receiver with Templeton LPA.

BemroseBooth Paragon, the specialist printer of tickets and labels, has made two new senior appointments to the team – finance director Emma Dutton, and sales and marketing director Stuart Scott.

Ms Dutton brings with her more than 20 years’ experience in the print industry, with prior knowledge of strategic business management and acquisition.

Mr Scott brings an additional 30 years’ experience with his previous role as sales and marketing director of Paragon UK.

BemroseBooth Paragon, based in Hull, was launched in 2010 following the acquisition of BemroseBooth by the Paragon Group.

A series of new appointments has been made in an expansion by York law firm Denison Till.

A new senior role as business development director has been created for Tony Tarpey, a well-known figure in the York business community, who previously held a similar position with independent accountants and business advisers Garbutt & Elliott, York, for 12 years.

Meanwhile, Denison Till’s Family Law department is strengthened with the appointment of Nicola Mitchell who gained accreditation as a specialist family lawyer with the organisation representing family lawyers, Resolution, in 2001.

The firm has appointed its first ever specialist solicitor tax consultant, Julian Moran, who has advised several law firms and accountancy practices.

Two lawyers at Williamsons Solicitors have been appointed to the Law Society’s Children Panel.

Zoe Atkinson and Rebecca Lovel are the only solicitors in Driffield and Bridlington to be accredited to the panel, which allows them to represent children involved in child-care proceedings.
